Designs for a hypothetical Special Stamps Issue.
Stamp Presentation Pack
As part of a university project, I was asked to create a set of commemorative postage stamps and a presentation pack based on my interests. I decided to theme my stamps after four categories of British food -- traditional dishes, modern cuisine, south asian inspired food, and snacks.
Sketching
Here are some preliminary sketches for the stamps. I was trying to decide a common arrangement for the elements of each stamp.
Finalised sketch
I made a final sketch to show the general design for each stamp. This sketch represents the Coronation Chicken stamp.
Colour palette
I mixed and matched colours together to see how it would all work together. I also made a rough sketch of the final presentation pack.
Digital sketches
I sketched these in photoshop to get a rough idea of each stamp's design before creating the final product in illustrator.
Final elements
In the UK, a stamp must have an image of the current monarch and use the font Chevin for any text since 2016. This was a student project, so I decided to use Perpetua Tilting MT instead since Chevin is not a default Adobe font.
